A visitor!
Someone we know came to visit us in Osaka - well, not to visit us specifically, but she managed to squeeze us in with all the work she had to do! She is like a Program Co-ordinator for the ESL program at the University that I did my practicum at. Anyways, we went for breakfast (very early!!) in Shinsaibashi and had a laugh.
The guy on the right is Yuusuke. He was in Osaka for a wedding, but lives in Nagoya. He was a student at the same time I was at the university. What a coincidence!

The wonderful world of Hanami
SO the thing to do here in the spring is ...of course... go flower viewing (or hanami as it is called in Japanese). Basically the idea is that you go hang out in a park (that has lots of cherry blossoms) with your closest (and not closest) buds and get completely blitzed in the park. Thats what I call a holiday. Companies also are highly involved in this holiday. I kid you not when I say that Japanese companies send the lower peons down to the park in the earliest hours of the morning to grab the 'best' spots to get stupidly drunk and inappropriate with their workmates. The big bosses then can saunter down any time they like to view the lovely blossoms floating down from the trees with a whisky bottle in one hand and Ms Kimura's (the accounting ladies) thigh in the other. Our version was definitely a little tamer. Here are some pics.
